Hey There!

I am Gerdie René Gordon (aka GG), a retired salon/spa owner, turned consultant, educator and women’s wellness advocate. For the past 25+ years I’ve devoted my life’s work to focusing on the intersectionality of hair, wellness and faith. An educator at heart, I love sharing my knowledge and expertise.

Over the course of my career, I’ve participated in top industry events, photo shoots and national broadcasts such as, America’s Next Top Model, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, the International Beauty Show – New York and the Bronner Brothers Atlanta Hair Shows. My salon also sponsored the first African Fashion Week and Queens Fashion Week.

I regularly receive and provide training in various aspects of hair care,
cutting, coloring and styling. I’ve trained at the World Studio in Rockefeller
Center, NYC, the Studios in Calabasas, California and successfully completed the
intense ABC’s of Haircutting Classic Course at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in
London, United Kingdom. I currently serve as a Contracted Educator for The Wella Company, owners of the Wella, Sebastian, Nioxin, GHD, Clairol Professional and OPI lines.

entrepreneur and small business owner, such as Businesswoman of the Year by the
New York State Beauty Culturists Association. My salon was also awarded Best in
Queens, in the category of Beauty Salons for four consecutive years 2018, 2019, 2020
and 2021.

In January 2023, after owning & operating three successful salon/spas, I
launched The Gerdie René Gordon Consultancy, which houses three brands: Totally
Booked! Art & Biz for Beauty Pros, Tress Talk with Gerdie and Well Woman. Through
the consultancy, I now work side-by-side with beauty entrepreneurs to enhance
their careers, hone in on their skills and master their craft as both artists and business
professionals; I provide private, concierge hair/scalp care sessions, and lastly, I
host an annual women’s wellness event, Well Woman.

I attained my Certificate of Cosmetology from the Berean Institute,
Cosmetology License from the States of Pennsylvania and New York, hold a
Bachelor of Arts from Temple University, a Master of Divinity from Union
Theological Seminary and a Master of Science, Social Work from Columbia
University.

I’m married to her best friend, Michael A. Gordon, and we’re blessed
with two daughters, 12-year-old, René Elyse and 9-year-old, Kara Michelle.
